Overview

Heh, I probably know more about this game than all of em'. Anyhow, this is how Mother 2 is put together.
So anyhow, like Mother this game consist of four charchters named Ness, Paula, Jeff and Poo. These guys have almost the same mission that Ninten, Ana, Loyd and Rock did in Mother (these games are very similar. The mission: go out and destroy the evil power that is going to destroy earth in ten years.
For another similarity, these guys have "PSI Powers", exactly the same as PK powers (the names got switched when english translation went through). Really sick attacks like "PSI FREEZE OMEGA!!". Not to mention that the graphics on Mother 2 were about 20x more advanced than Mother (go figure, one for Famicom and one for SNES).
Ness starts out in a rural town named "Onett" (as the other cities in the country are "Twoson", "Threed","Fourside",etc.). And gets up on an adventure all because of an asteriod that fell in his backyard. One thing I know that I personally liked, was the ability to be able to see your enemy before the attack you, this never really happened in Mother, all the random battles were hidden, making it a challege to get the game started.
If you can remember games before this one, most of them included Knights and armor, or space ships and planets (Mother 2 has some of that as well...). All that has been replaced by things that you and I might be able to buy at your local grocery or hardware store, like T-Ball bats instead of sorwds, or frying pans instead of maces.
True we all had our reasons for falling in love with this game, but nonetheless, it proves to be a game thats hard to stop playing. I mean, look at me! I devoted a web page to it!

ESTRANGED GAME THINGS...

< Probably the most advance Mother cheat ever was the discovery of the debug menu. This menu could change and alter things in the game, but it was horrible unadvanced and unintelligent, making it somewhat useless.
This menu could be achieved when loading the ROM by changing three bytes at BBB8, I forget what they are, and the only place they might be is floating around starmen.net somewhere. Good luck finding that...
< an actual IPS hack of Mother 2 is something that I'll proably lack motivation to do forever, so...
